Khaled Khiari appointed Chair of intergovernmental negotiations on Security Council Reform

(TAP) – Tunisia’s Ambassador-Permanent Representative to the United Nations Khaled Khiari was appointed Chair of the Intergovernmental negotiations on the Security Council Reform by UN General Assembly President Peter Thomson.

Tunisia reiterates willingness to carry through the “complex process” and endeavour to bridge the differences between the various States and international stakeholders and unify their visions so that the Security Council can take up current challenges and assure its mission to keep peace and international security, according to a Foreign Ministry press release Wednesday.

Tunisia reaffirms, in this regard, the importance of the security council reform to be in harmony with the contemporary international society and can reinforce its capacities in matters of keeping peace and security, the same source adds.
