GE Healthcare Tunisia to set up branch in Tunis

GE Healthcare, a subsidiary of General Electric Company announced Tuesday its intention to pursue a long-term investment in the location of its operations in Tunisia with the establishment of a branch in Tunis, led by a local team and the creation of “Dozens of new jobs and the establishment of a series of strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors dedicated to the modernisation of the medical infrastructure and the strengthening of primary health care, “the company said in a statement.

The company specialised in the provision of services to healthcare professionals also plans to set up a local Customer Service Center, with a commitment to significantly increase the number of spare parts located by GE in Tunisia, added the statement.

“To optimise our growing operations in French-speaking Africa, we want to honour the strong source of Tunisian talent, locate the GE’s global capabilities and offers, and act as a catalyst for strengthening collaboration between the public sector and the private sector to speed up the development of a sustainable healthcare system in Tunisia, “said GE Healthcare President Farid Fezoua, whose remarks are quoted in the statement.

According to its web site, the UK-based GE Healthcare employs over 51,000 people worldwide in providing services to healthcare professionals and their patients in more than 100 countries.
