Awareness-raising campaign to help prevent obesity and diabetes

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the Pasteur Clinic in partnership with Novo Nordisk will organize a public awareness-raising campaign to help prevent obesity and diabetes.

The campaign will start on November 11 in Sfax, in the Diabetic club “of the “Maison du diabéte” with music, art and dance in Miami Centre.

On November 12, the Tunis Northern Centre will host an event called “ La santé en marche”. It includes the promotion of a healthy life style, with a set of activities. This business city will turn into a sports and disease awareness areas. Some 600 attendees are already registered in this event. The activities will include zumba,  RPM, running, culinary workshops, information and screening posts…

Besides, In the B’Chira Art Centre in association with the Young Diabetics Association ATAJED, younger diabetics will experiment in this outdoor Art Centre for animations, culinary workshops, injection techniques reminder and paintings. They will make the most of the educators’ experience for further information and advices. A screening will be offered to all the participants.

On November 14, an open day will be held in this main centre for diabetes awareness so as to make known major actors in Tunis. During this day, attendees can visit the house of diabetes, know more about its activities, and can be screened for diabetes. They can also share all their inquiries with NN’s educators and voluntary HCPs.

November 18 will be marked by a screening and disease awareness day in the eastern Tunisian coast Dar Allouch. This activity is supported by the regional hospital of Kelibia.

Through the partnerships engaged between Novo Nordisk and medical social departments of several companies, no less than 8,000 employees will be screened on their work place during 10 days of activities in November.

A General practitioners (GPs) training on women and diabetes is due on November 25.

In collaboration with Tunisian Anti Diabetes League, this scientific event will host 100 Gps from the whole country to focus on gestational diabetes and women diabetes.

On December 6th, 70 pharmacists will attend 3 workshop sessions during which 3 topics will be developed. They will be trained on patient education, nutritional education bases, and injection recommendations and techniques.
