Tunisia wins four gold medals at Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition

Tunisia won six medals, including four gold medals, at the 19th edition of the Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, TAP reports.

The variety “Olivko” won the gold medal “Best Of Class,” along with the organic olive oil “Olivko” also won a gold medal. Ditto for the organic variety, Oriviera.

Besides, « Triomphe Thuccabor » of Domain Ben Ismail won a gold medal. The Ben Ismail Domain lies in the north-western part of Tunisia, in the villlage of Toukaber.

After winning the bronze medal at the “Athena International Olive Oil” competition in Greece in early April 2017, this same extra virgin olive oil  « Triomphe Thuccabor » won the gold medal in the “London International Olive Oil Quality Competition 2017”, an international competition, which took place on April 14, 2017 in London, the United Kingdom.

It is worth reminding that “Triomphe Thuccabor “, the Tunisian extra virgin olive oil receivd the “Best of Class” International Award in the  “Chetoui” variety, as part of the “Athena International Olive Oil” competition held in April 2017, which is a recognition  for the good quality of Tunisian olive oil for the first time in Tunisia’s olive oil history. 

In turn, the variety of Sahel Oleiva won a silver medal. A bronze medal was awarded to the variety “Vaga Olive Oil.”

The Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition is the largest olive oil competition in the United States. More than 20 countries participated. 658 products from 371 producers were presented.
