Arab Monetary Fund helps Tunisia develop business environment

Tunisia will benefit from the loans provided by the Arab Monetary Fund to better develop its business environment, said Abderrahmane Al-Hamidi, Director-General of the Arab Monetary Fund, on Monday.

“We granted two tranches of loans to Tunisia, each worth 130 million U.S. dollars delivered last month in Jordan,” said Al-Hamidi at an African summit. “These loans are part of the program of financing Arab trade.”

The loans would be invested to help develop business environment in Tunisia, targeting the development of small and medium enterprises, to create jobs and provide more access to financing, he added.

Since the founding in 1976, the Arab Monetary Fund has granted a total of 1 billion dollars of loans to Tunisia.
