A series of Roadshows aimed at sensitising Tunisian exporters to the business opportunities in the Democratic Republic of Congo will be held in Sfax on July 3, in Sousse on July 4 and in Tunis on July 5, the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) announced Wednesday.
These Roadshows will features, in particular, a presentation of the DRC market and B to B meetings with 4 Congolese buyers who will come to Tunisia specially to attend this series of regional seminars.
Priority has been given to health sectors, including the pharmaceutical and construction industries, particularly building materials and electrical components.
These sectors were selected on the basis of the recommendations of a market study carried out by an international research firm to identify beforehand the “matching” between the most promising sectors that have the greatest development potential in DR Congo and the Tunisian offer in its best export performance in this market.
These “Roadshows” are part of the Platform “Think Africa” component of the project “PEMA” export activities, impacting employment to new African markets “, funded and supported by the German International Development Co-operation, ” GIZ ”, in collaboration with CEPEX, the Ministries of Trade and Foreign Affairs, the API, the employers’ organizations, the regional chambers of commerce, the African Economic Chamber.
On the day of the Roadshow, a pool of experts, including the representative of CEPEX in Kinshasa, and operators familiar with this market will sketch the business paths in DR Congo.
The second axis will result in B to B meetings, scheduled between Tunisian operators and Congolese leading, handpicked, according to the CEPEX.
B to A meetings (Business to Administration) with the Kinshasa-based representative of the CEPEX are also on the agenda of this Roadshow in order to benefit from a better lighting on this market and pave the way for a possible support in a prospecting mission.
A similar roadshow for the Côte d’Ivoire market will be organised in September and another one for the Cameroonian market next October.
