Tunisia hosts Agricultural Diplomacy Week February 25-March 2


The Agricultural Diplomacy Week will be held in Tunisia from February 25 to March 2 during which several issues will be debated pertaining to agriculture in Africa and the Maghreb.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries said in a statement that in the context of valorisation of the agricultural sector in diplomatic action, Tunisia hosting the 23rd Conference of the World Organisation for Animal Health’s (OIE) Regional Commission held from February 25 to March 1 in Hammamet”.

“Over 150 Tunisian and foreign personalities along with heads of regional and Maghreb organisations, take part in the conference,” the same source noted.

The Conference aimed to examine, in a regional context, issues related to animal health and welfare, as well as the safety of animal-source food at the production stage and to make recommendations in accordance with the general rules of the OIE.

The event will be attended by the Algerian Minister of Agriculture, the Director General of the OIE, in addition to representatives of the World Bank, AMU, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa “COMESA”.
