Tunisia participates in conference for leadership dialogue on food security in Africa

Minister of Agriculture Samir Taeib participates in the conference for Leadership Dialogue on Food Security in Africa on 5-6 August in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, a statement issued Monday by the Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fishery said.

The high-level meeting is co-organised by the Government of Rwanda, the African Union Commission, the World Bank Group, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

More than 200 experts from Africa and representatives of international organisations will take part in this event.

The meeting’s objective is also to catalyze actions and funding to address the worsening of the food security crisis on the continent, in a context of climate change.

At the end of the work, participants would sign, according to Rwandan media, a document that formalises the commitment of all African partners to better coordinate and facilitate joint actions to meet the challenge of food security in Africa.
