US donation worth $ 335 million to Tunisia under five-year programme

Tunisia received a donation from the United States worth $ 335 million (the equivalent of 1 billion dinars) to fund projects and programmes meant to boost economic and social development by means of couraging entrepreneurship and improving governance, the Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation said in a statement.

The donation is part of a US co-operation and support programme for a five-year period (2019-2024).

The donation agreement was signed by Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation Zied Ladhari and Country Director and Senior Development Advisor for US Agency for International Development (USAID)/Tunisia Peter Riley.

Harvey said the US is determined to support Tunisia in various sectors, including those related to democratic transition and economic development.
