30th edition of JCC 2019 opens Saturday evening

The 30th edition of the 2019 Carthage Film Days (JCC), opened on Saturday evening in the Tunis City of Culture (October 26 to November 2).

The 2019 JCC programme includes a selection of 170 films, including 44 in official competition, including 12 feature films and 12 short fiction films, as well as 12 feature films and 8 short documentaries.)

The Special Golden Tanit of the 30th session of JCC was awarded to the late Nejib Ayed which was presented to his family members.

The opening ceremony was marked by the presence of several guests among the celebrities of the 7th art in Tunisia, in addition to the members of the juries of the various sections of the official competition.

The opening ceremony was attended by political figures, including Mohamed Zine Elabidine, Minister of Cultural Affairs, members of the government, deputies and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Tunisia.

The opening ceremony ended with an out-of-competition screening of Nouri Bouzid’s film “Les épouvantails” (138′) in the presence of the director and the entire film team, producers, actors and technicians. The first of this fiction produced in 2019 was reserved for the 76th Venice Film Festival.
