As part of the project “Promotion of Job-Creating Export Activities to New African Markets” (PEMA), a project funded by the GIZ in collaboration with CEPEX, a letter of intent for the establishment of a strategic partnership was signed between the Tunisia Health Alliance (THA) and the German Health Alliance (GHA). This partnership was materialized on the occasion of THA’s participation in the 6th’German-African Healthcare’ forum held on October 30, 2019, in Berlin in the presence of Ahmed Chafra, Tunisia’s ambassador to Germany.

This partnership, with the”GHA”, the main multisectoral structure bringing together around 100 leading German actors operating in the health sector, is an opportunity to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Tunisia and Germany. This cooperation will include the sharing of data and information on African markets, the pooling of efforts to access African markets through a common and complementary offer, and the creation of synergies between German and Tunisian companies allowing the mutual increase in competence of actors. This association will make it possible to set up joint offers that better meet the needs of the target markets, to jointly organise events and promotional actions aimed at increasing the visibility of German and Tunisian companies, and to develop a skills centre and pilot projects for African operators.

Gathered under a common banner, the Tunisia Health Alliance THA is a group of 12 major actors operating in the health sector in Tunisia that has decided to combine know-how and skills in order to provide a complete, accessible, adapted and quality offer for African markets.

The project “Promotion of Job-Creating Export Activities to New African Markets” (PEMA) initiated under the mandate of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the GIZ in cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Trade and the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX).

The objective of this project is to strengthen and sustain the export activities of Tunisian companies to Sub-Saharan African countries through the establishment of win-win partnerships between Tunisia and Germany.
