Second edition of SMART Industrie starts

The second edition of the SMART Industrie exhibition started on Wednesday in Tunis with the slogan “Industry 4.0 in Tunisia, a transition underway”.

Organized by the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) in collaboration with the Ministries of Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, Communication Technologies and Digital Economy, this event aims to publicise the concept of intelligent industry (the fourth revolution or industry 4.0) and to encourage industrial companies and economic operators, in general, to take advantage of the opportunities that this new industrial revolution offers.

Exhibitors from industrial companies specialising in industry 4.0 to present the achievements of Tunisian companies in the field of intelligent industry and technological solutions in this field take part in this new edition held until February 20, 19.

Director-General of APII Omar Bouzouada explained, in a statement to media, on the sidelines of the exhibition organised with the assistance of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) that the implementation of the programme to raise awareness among 1,000 companies on the importance of joining the fourth industrial revolution has started over the past year, in addition to training courses for 500 managers in new technologies and support to 100 companies in their transition to industry 4.0, through the creation of two centres for skills in Sousse and Sfax, in a first step.
