Tunisia: record estimates for olive oil exports
Tunisian olive oil exports for the current season, totalling about 340,000 tonnes of product, will generate record revenue of more than two billion dinars (about 619,671,034 euros), compared to 1.2 billion dinars last year, said President of the Tunisian Oil Office (ONH), Chokri Bayoudh, saying that the revenue should contribute 4.25% to the country’s state budget. China donates new batch of medical aid to Tunisia
China on Thursday donated a new batch of medical aid to Tunisia to help its fight against COVID-19 pandemic. The Chinese Embassy in Tunisia announced in a statement that the donation included 100,000 medical masks. A new shipping line for the transport of wheeled cargo was implemented this week between Marina di Carrara, Italy, and Sousse, Tunisia, said the maritime shipping industry website Shipping Italy. COVID-19: Tunisia launches vaccine research
Tunisia’s Institut Pasteur has launched researches to come up with an anti-COVID-19 vaccine, Tunisian media reports. Hechmi Louzir, Head of the Tunis-based non-profit health organization indicated that a team of the institute has begun working on a vaccine using the DNA technology. Migrant crossings in central Mediterranean more than doubled in July, EU agency says
Sea migration in the central Mediterranean rose sharply last month, partly fueled by an exodus from Tunisia, the European Union’s border agency Frontex said Tuesday.
