Ministry of Trade implements measures to market dates

The Ministry of Trade and Export Development, the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP), the National Chamber of Commerce, the Interprofessional Group of Dates and the Inter-professional Fruit Group (GiFruit) has announced a series of measures to promote the marketing of dates on local and foreign markets, TAP reports. Tunisian scuba divers have discovered the almost-intact wreck of French submarine wreck the Ariane, sunk during World War One. Launched in 1914, the 54m Ariane (Q100) was one of eight Amphitrite-class submarines built for the French Navy before the war. She was torpedoed at the surface on 19 June, 1917, by Imperial German Navy minelaying submarine UC-22, with the deaths of 21 of the 29 crew, DIVER NET reports. Moody’s reduces outlook on Tunisia’s debt, keeps rating stable

Moody’s Investors Service maintained its B2 issuer rating on Tunisia, citing the strength of Tunisia’s foreign exchange buffers, but changed its outlook to negative. The rating agency cited the economic, financial, social and political challenges faced by Tunisia’s new technocratic government in implementing its reform agenda as the reason for its more cautious assessment.
