Tunisia’s Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) in Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire) announces virtual professional meetings between entrepreneurs, businessmen and women from Tunisia and their counterparts from 12 Sub-Saharan African countries, to be held on November 18, 19 and 20, 2020.
According to the CEPEX of Tunisia in Abidjan, the initiator of these meetings, this new mode of exchange and partnership is justified by the context of the global health crisis to Coronavirus (COVID-19), which does not allow face-to-face meetings.
These virtual meetings are aimed at stakeholders operating in the sectors of agri-food, construction materials and public works, medicines, health services, higher education and ICTs. Participating countries include Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
This event called “Tunisia-Africa E-Business Meetings” is intended to be the matchmaking Number One event of the year aiming to meet in virtual mode through the “B2Match platform”, a fine selection of African prospects.
It offers an opportunity for economic operators to strengthen their relationships and establish new ones, through CEPEX which plans well-filled virtual business meeting agendas for Tunisian companies.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted on many activities around the world, particularly intra-African international trade, and has brought several sectors of the economy and international trade and promotional events and business meetings to a halt.
Faced with this unprecedented situation, countries with export-led economies had no choice but to reinvent themselves. Thus, cross-border business has found a new, resolutely digital mode of operation. CEPEX wants to contribute to relaunching intra-African trade through digital solutions.
This virtual platform is the first Tunisian-African business event in virtual mode. A virtual plenary session is planned as a prelude to the matchmaking meetings with high-level speakers.
It will also include a remarkable participation with more than 300 Africans selected (importers, distributors, partners …) by teams of local consultants experienced in business relations.
The B2Match platform, which favours business relationships, is a multifunctional platform that essentially enables the management of the various matchmaking operations in conference or B to B mode, offering the user a successful experience in terms of the relevance of prospects and the progress of the session.
CEPEX aims to position and enhance the value of the “Tunisia Export” brand on international markets. This initiative is in line with its vision of strengthening the trade network and optimising the exploitation of the free trade agreements concluded between Tunisia and more than 130 countries.
The Tunisia Export project is the fruit of a Tunisian-German collaborative effort. It is organised with the support of the project “Promotion of job-creating export activities to new African markets”.
It is initiated under the mandate of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Export Development and the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX).
