Legatum Institute’s Prosperity Index: Tunisia ranks 96th in 2020 edition

Tunisia is 99th in the overall Prosperity Index rankings. Since 2010, Tunisia has moved down the rankings table by 30 places.

Tunisia performs most strongly in Governance and Living Conditions but is weakest in Social Capital. The biggest improvement compared to a decade ago came in Personal Freedom.

Tunisia was ranked 96th in the 2020 edition of the Legatum Institute’s Prosperity Index, after Morocco which ranked first and ahead Algeria (108th), Libya (149th) and Mauritania (154th) in North Africa

Released this month, the report, which assesses levels of prosperity in 167 countries, ranked Morocco 100th, 95th and 94th in 2019, 2018 and 2017, respectively.

Morocco was ranked 96th in the 2020 edition of the Legatum Institute’s Prosperity Index, doing better than the previous year.

Denmark leads the ranking, followed by Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and Finland. On the other hand, Somalia, Chad, Yemen, the Central African Republic and South Sudan come last.
