Cannes and Venice compete and we accept the challenge says Hussein Fahmy

Artist Hussein Fahmy, chairman of the 44th session of the Cairo International Film Festival, to be held from 13 to 22 November, said: The festival is facing a challenge that requires its management to give its best as it is the expression of Egyptian and Arab cinema.

Fahmy added, during an interview published by the festival on its YouTube channel, that the “Cairo Film Festival” is among the first-class festivals in the world, stressing that “it is on the same level and value as the Cannes, Venice and Berlin festivals that compete with the Cairo Festival.”

“We accept the challenge and we will do our best to try to have distinguished juries, important films that we have been able to get, in addition to events and activities of great interest to filmmakers”, he went on saying.

The Cairo International Film Festival, one of the oldest and most regular festivals in the Arab world and Africa, has the distinction of being the only festival in the Arab and African region listed in the A category of the International Federation of Producers in Brussels (FIAPF).
