A new flight route has been announced from Stansted Airport to a tourist hotspot in Africa. TUI has announced it will be running flights to Tunisia from summer 2025 as part of its holiday programme for the year, Essexlive reports.
The route will be travelling from the Essex airport to Enfidha in Tunisia in the northern part of Africa next year. TUI said it is aiming to offer people more “choice and flexibility” to customers in the county and the UK.
The full TUI programme for summer 2025 includes 14 destinations in six countries, with 33 weekly flights, including five Greek islands – Corfu, Heraklion, Kefalonia, Rhodes and Zakynthos. There will be three flights a week to Dalaman and four flights a week to Palma de Mallorca.
There will additionally be four weekly flights to support Marella Cruise program, Corfu, Paphos and Palma de Mallorca , with TUI acting as the exclusive operator to Egypt from Stansted Airport, once weekly to Sharm El Sheikh.
Andrew Flintham, TUI UK&I Manager Director, said: “We are seeing an increase in demand from the Stansted region, which is why we have added an exciting new destination Enfidha, Tunisia for our customers.
“This now means that there will be flights to Turkey, Greece and Spain, giving customers more choice not only in destination but also in holiday duration and flight times. Our customers want to go on the holiday best for them, and they want to be able to fly out of their local airport.”
