The 19th Arab Radio and Television Festival organised by The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) will be held from 26-29 April 2018 in Tunis. The festival is organised in cooperation with the Tunisian Radio and Tunisian Television Establishments and in partnership with the Arab Satellite Communications Organisation (Arabsat).
Speaking about the event, Abdelrahim Suleiman, Director General of ASBU said: “The annual festival aims to contribute to the development of the Arab radio and TV production and improving its quality so as to meet the needs of member corporations. The festival aims also to identify and encourage innovative and meaningful trends in radio and television production in order to develop Arab creative energies in this field.”
The festival plays host to representatives of ASBU member corporations working in the fields of staging, production and preparation of programmes, as well as representatives of private Arab production companies, news agencies, and foreign Arab-speaking radio and TV stations. Representatives of private radio and television networks, international radio and television unions will also attend the festival.
Speaking about the company’s longstanding relationship with the Arab States Broadcasting Union, which hosts the event, Eng. Khalid Bin Ahmed Balkheyour, CEO of Arabsat said: “We have an excellent working relationship with the Arab States Broadcasting Union and we have many common successful projects such as the global TV bouquet and MENOS project for Satellite Media Exchange. Arabsat has launched a satellite television platform from Tunisia in partnership with the Tunisian National Broadcasting Corporation (ONT), which is the culmination of our long strategic relations with this esteemed institution.”
The festival includes an awards programme with radio and TV and productions slated to win cash prizes for excellence, and a technical and programme-related workshop.
