“Tunisia is selling well and is attracting the family market which accounts for 44% of bookings to date,” says British tour operator Thomas Cook, adding that to meet customer demand Thomas Cook Airlines has decided to increase the number of weekly flights to Tunisia from 3 to 11 flights for this summer.
According to Thomas Cook 2018 report, online searches for Tunisia destination increased 8-fold, up by 790%, as of February 13, 2018, the day Thomas Cook’s flights to Tunisia resumed.
“The summer of 2018 sees the return to North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean favourites for British holidaymakers,” says the holiday report.
Thomas Cook UK CEO Chris Mottershead said: “With only a week to go before the official start of the summer holidays, Egypt and Tunisia are selling well with both price and quality, which makes these destinations very appreciated.”
“So far this summer, Turkey is the flagship destination for British holidaymakers and we are seeing substantial growth in bookings compared to last year,” he pointed out.
Spain is in the lead for the 2nd year in a row, followed by Greece, Turkey and the United States, Mottershead specified.
