Ooredoo Tunisia closed its first major gaming tournament on the OoredooEZ platform with a remarkable offline event that took place on October 16, 2022, at the Convention Center in an exceptional setting!
The final of the “Valorant” tournament took place during a day full of sharing and discovery that brought together hundreds of gamers around the same passion.
After four days of online qualification, two finalist teams, Ghools and Gucci Gang, had the honour of competing against each other under the encouragement of the other participants.
“At Ooredoo, we will continue to support the gaming ecosystem in Tunisia and provide the most appropriate service to fulfil this dream. Many of the players are amateurs who have no benchmarks to hone their skills in eSports. Through this tournament, we were able to bring them together in one space to share their passion. We strongly believe in the importance of this sector in Tunisia and we are really happy to accompany them in their journey. We really appreciate their sportsmanship and we are announcing that we will soon be organising our second FIFA game tournament,” said Mr SunilMishra, CMO Ooredoo Tunisia at the opening of the tournament.
This meeting, so eagerly awaited by enthusiasts, also aims to introduce e-sports and video game culture to a non-initiated public through presentations and various activities organised throughout the day on 16 October.
For this first edition and after a long day of exciting competition for the largest prize pool of more than 35,000 TND presented by Ooredoo, Gucci Gang was the winning team of the “Valorant” round and won a prize worth 20,000DT. Ghools was ranked second and won a prize worth 10,000DT.
The two teams ranked 3rd and 4th in the online tournament were also present and received prizes worth 7,000 TD.
Many gifts and surprises were reserved for those present at this final, Ooredoo organized a draw for the public and made them win 5 smartphones, 3 electric scooters and 18 game vouchers.
It was a day full of discovery of new technologies and new games for some and a return to the world of retro video games for others.
OoredooEZ is a gaming platform launched in May 2022 to allow gaming enthusiasts and professionals to enjoy unique and unforgettable experiences.
