Eighty-two projects with an overall value of € 17,731 million, spread over 20 sectors, will be presented to foreign investors and lenders at the International Investment Conference “Tunisia 2020” to be held on November 29 and 30.
According to an analysis prepared by “Targa Consult”, a consulting firm specialising in system integration, the transport sector will be present with 22 projects with a total cost of € 4,307 million. These projects include the construction of the deepwater port of Enfidha (€ 880 million), the construction of the Tunis-Kairouan-Sidi Bouzid-Kasserine and Gafsa (Tunis-Jelma section), € 480 million), the construction of express roads linking the governorates of Kasserine, Gafsa and Sidi Bouzid to Sfax, Gabes and the A1 motorway (€ 480 million), the extension of the A3 motorway to El Kef (€ 280 million), the extension of the Tunis-Carthage Airport (€ 240 million), the Sfax metro (€ 240 million).
The digital sector will be present with three major projects for a total amount of € 2,696 million. These projects include the Tunisia Digital 2020 project (€ 2,172 million), the Smart Tunisia project (€ 500 million) and the e-government development strategy (€ 24 million).
The regional development sector will also be represented by four projects with an overall value of € 2610 million. These include the Regional Development Programme (€ 1,006 million), the Jinene Competitiveness Cluster (€ 800 million), the Communal Investment Plan (€ 524 million) and the Integrated Development Programme 3rd tranche (€ 280 million).
Seven projects with an overall budget of € 1,914 million will also be presented in the field of Energy. The share of the environment sector will be 8 projects, with a total amount of € 956 million. Industry will also be present with 3 projects, with a total financing of € 893 million.
Other projects will be distributed as follows: water and sanitation (4 projects, € 756 million), housing (2 projects, € 541 million), agriculture (12 projects, € 471 million), health Projects, € 454 million), agri-food (1 project, € 450 million), education (3 projects, € 372 million), human development (1 project, € 370 million), logistics (2 projects, € 360 million), mines (1 project, € 200 millions), tourism (2 projects, € 81 million), sport (1 project, € 80 million), administration (1 project, € 72 millions) and gender (1 project, € 18 million).
Funding for these projects will be divided between public funding (€ 8,752 million for 46 projects), public-private funding (€ 5,976 million for 16 projects) and private funding (€ 3,003 million for 20 projects).
