The Marina of Monastir has obtained the ISO 14001 V 2015 certification specific to an environmental management system that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainable development.
It is the first Marina in Africa to obtain the ISO 14001 V 2015 certification by the VERITAS INTERNATIONAL CONSULTANCY.
Managed by the Arab Tourist Company (CTA), the Monastir Marina’s certification testifies to a firm commitment of the company to implement at all levels the systematic devices which constitute a significant added value.
This certification is part of an environmental approach consecrated by the renewed award every year since 2009 of the international eco-label Blue Flag that rewards and valorizes the managers of beaches and Marinas for their efforts in environmental protection.
“It reflects our sense of environmental responsibility and our commitment to provide to recreational boaters, but also residents and visitors, with an environmentally friendly environment that meets international requirements. For us, this is a strategic axis which, beyond the Marina, is part of the overall Tunisian approach in favour of sustainable development, ” Hedi REGUIG, CEO of CTA told Media.
The Marina of Monastir is equipped with 300 rings, offering its boaters all the necessary amenities and giving to their safety a key importance since it is monitored 24 hours a day by security agents and surveillance cameras.
In addition to the Marina, the Arab Tourist Company (CTA) manages a group of 56 apartments and 10 commercial premises. The Marina of Monastir, built in 1985, is distinguished by many attractive assets.
The Marina of Monastir is characterized by its location almost in the center of Monastir, with its rich historical heritage and its animation which continues all the year round, in addition to its proximity by only 6 km from Habib Bourguiba international airport. It is also 25 km from Sousse.
So many advantages that have made the Marina one of the known and appreciated destinations in the region, It is at the same time a port of call, passage, wintering and regattas, which has made the Marina and the city the point of support of the most renowned nautical clubs in Europe and a place of privileged international meeting.
