Informed sources told Libya Al-Mostakbal website that the head of the Tunisian Al-Nahda party, Rashed Al-Ghannouchi, started efforts to hold a meeting between the head of the Presidential Council (PC) of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, and the commander of the army of the House of Representatives (HoR), General Khalifa Haftar, in Tunisia in the coming days.
Sources close to Al-Nahda party described the communications by Al- Al-Ghannouchi with the two sides as “encouraging” without giving further details, but they pointed to mediation efforts by Libyan and Arab figures.
No official comment from Al-Nahda, but the Foreign Relations Official, Rafeeq Abdul-Salam, said that the party is carrying out the mediation between different Libyan factions, including the figures of the regime of Gaddafi.
