Tourism: Record tourist arrivals in Tabarka-Ain Draham (January 2017)

For the first time since 2010, the number of tourist arrivals in Tabarka and Ain Draham registered a record in January 2017, in addition to the number of overnight stays, up by 167% and 170%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2016.

The number of arrivals in January reached 27,700 against 10,370 in January 2016, and the number of overnight stays reached 46,000 against 1,700, according to the Regional Tourism Authority’s report.

Snowfall concomitantly with winter holidays favoured this strong growth, notably as regards domestic tourism, in addition to the new year’s celebrations that attracted many Algerian tourists, regional tourism commissioner in Tabarka Hichem Mahouachi affirmed
