A large delegation from the German city of Rostock last Tuesday began three-day working visit to Bizerte. This is part of the implementation of the Friendship and Co-operation Agreement established between the two cities and in anticipation of the launch of a joint project on the conversion of organic waste into fertilizers. Tunisia’s marriage restriction ‘undermines human rights’

A Tunisian marriage law has been criticised for undermining “a fundamental human right” by campaign groups in the North African nation. Currently if a non-Muslim man wishes to marry a Muslim woman he must convert to Islam and present a certificate as proof of this conversion before he is allowed to proceed. An Ottoman heritage site located at the highest point of the city of Kef in northwestern Tunisia, Kef Castle has been witnessing history for four centuries. Theresa May was accused last night of blackmail after she warned that the fight against crime and terrorism would be undermined if the EU refused to strike a Brexit deal with Britain.
