Tunisia: Annaba-Tunis railway line commissioned on May 1

The railway service linking the Algerian city of Annaba to Tunis will be commissioned on May 1, Director General of the Algerian National Railway Company (SNTF), Yassine Djaballah said in an interview with Algerian daily El-Massa.

After the completion of the redevelopment work of a tunnel on the railway part of the Tunisian territory, the DG explained, the operation of this rail link is made possible.

This constraint resulted in the postponement of the commissioning of this link initially planned for August 2016.

The train that will provide this service, with calls in several Algerian and Tunisian cities, will circulate at a speed of 160 k / h, according to indications provided by the same official, reported the Algeria 1 information website.
