Tunisian Internet Agency granted licence for wholesale network

The Tunisian Internet Agency (ATI) announced that it was won an infrastructure operator licence, allowing it to roll out a high-capacity network in Tunisia. The ATI formed a consortium with Menix Holding and a Turkish company to apply for the licence from the Ministry of Communication Technology and Digital Economy.

The new operator will provide wholesale services for telecom operators and ISPs. The initial investment is expected to reach TND 54 million. The wholesale capacity is expected to help operators expand their broadband coverage in the country. ATI already operates an internet exchange in Tunisia.
