IOM launches programme for vulnerable groups

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) on Wednesday launched the inclusion programme ‘Incorporate’ with the aim of finding job placements for people who normally have difficulty accessing employment and offering them an alternative to irregular migration to Europe.

The programme is aimed in particular at young people and women at risk of social and economic exclusion and has the financial support of the Spanish banking foundation La Caixa and Tunisia’s Deposits and Loans Fund. It will be implemented in the capital and in the surrounding urban area, which as a population of roughly 2 million people, and it will be coordinated by IOM with four local partners.

The Incorporate model has already been successfully introduced in Morocco, Hungary and Poland. In Tunisia there will be 200 beneficiaries of the first phase of the project, which will then be extended in 2018.
