33 Tunisian companies obtain Startup label

Some 33 Tunisian companies obtained, on Friday, the Startup label which will allow them to benefit from several incentives to develop their activities.
Minister of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy Mohamed Anouar Maarouf, who presented these labels, stressed that his department is working to create the investment fund in addition to supporting Startups in 2019.
The objective of these labels is to create 1, 000 Startups and 10 thousand opportunities
of jobs over the next five years.

This label is awarded to innovative projects with an extended capacity operating in all economic fields and is not limited to the ICT sector, the minister added.

Elyes Jribi, a member of the Startup Act Labelling Committee, said that the criteria for awarding the label concern the age of the company (under 8 years old), its financial weight and its ability to create jobs, in addition to its independence and its capacity for innovation and growth.

This label allows the promoter of the Startup to open a bank account in foreign currency that can reach 100 thousand dinars in order to help them expand their business internationally, he further said.
