Tunisia to take part in the Dubai International Agri-Food Products Exhibition

The Technical Center for Packaging and Packing (Packtec) announced on Friday evening that no less than eleven Tunisian olive oil packers will participate in the International Food Products Exhibition “Gulfood”, which will be held from February 13 to 17, 2022. An event that will see the participation of 60,000 visitors and more than 2,500 local, regional and international exhibitors from over 185 countries.

The objective of this participation is to strengthen the exports of Tunisian packaged olive oil to Dubai, which “represents today the essential platform of Asia, the Middle East and Africa with a market of more than 5.2 million inhabitants, 85% of which are of foreign origin.

This participation is part of the promotion campaign of packaged olive oil led by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines, whose realization has been entrusted to Packtec. The promotional action aims at consolidating the international visibility of Tunisian olive oil, developing its export to the Gulf countries and promoting Tunisia as a producer and exporter of excellent quality oil, underlines Packtec. Within the framework of this exhibition, a generic space of 195m2 will be exclusively dedicated to the promotion of the Tunisian olive oil packaged.

On the programme, tasting sessions and a cooking show will be organised and animated by a Tunisian chef in order to promote Tunisian cuisine.

The Gulf countries constitute a market with strong potential for Tunisian companies exporting packaged olive oil, given that they record an exponential growth in the consumption of food products, the same source indicates. In the United Arab Emirates, olive oil is growing in popularity, following the increasing influx of Arab, European and North African expatriates.
