USAID Visit Tunisia: 60 million dinars to diversify the Tunisian tourism offer

The program Usaid Visit Tunisia Activity announced Tuesday, the launch of a call for expressions of interest in favor of companies and tourism projects in Tunisia wishing to receive support in investment.

Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Visit Tunisia aims to mobilize more than 20 million dollars (equivalent to 60 million dinars) in private capital in the tourism sector, in partnership with the international investment consulting firm “CrossBoundary”, said the program in a statement.

The objective is to diversify the Tunisian tourism offer, increase revenues in the sector and generate sustainable employment.

In this context, CrossBoundary will provide investment advice to businesses and investors to improve access to capital and facilitate investment in the tourism sector.

Funded by USAID, this support is aimed at national and international companies and investors seeking expertise in the entire fundraising process.

Launched in February 2022, Visit Tunisia is a program that will mobilize a total of 50 million dollars (151 million dinars). It extends over a period of five years and works to promote the revival of tourism, through the conclusion of public/private partnerships.

It aims to create 15,000 new jobs in the alternative tourism sector in marginalized regions, including the governorate of Kasserine and increase tourism revenues by 20% and increase the number of tourists to 11.5 million by 2026.

In 2019, tourist entries reached 9.4 million tourists, an increase of 13.6%, compared to 2018.
