Flat6Labs, the leading seed venture capital firm in North Africa and Middle East region, organised the 3rd Hub Day of the Ignite Tunisia project. This event brought together representatives of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, donors, investors and the media who gathered to discover the support programmes presented by structures from different regions of Tunisia, from Bizerte to Medenine, including Tunis, Nabeul and Monastir.
During 4 months, the representatives of these 6 structures benefited from coaching and mentoring sessions covering several fields with national and international experts mobilized to support them, online or face to face. Also with a view to boosting regional ecosystems, support programmes were set up taking into account the diversity of the different communities.
During his opening remarks, Walid Triki, General Manager of Flat6Labs stated that: “We are very proud to contribute to the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem directly and indirectly through the support of coaching structures and to contribute to the realization of the dreams of young talents in the different regions of Tunisia”.
The 6 structures present are
1Kub: 1KUB is an inclusive incubator, dedicated to female entrepreneurship and focused on Digital, which consists of supporting women entrepreneurs who wish to see their projects come to fruition, and be connected to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of their companies. 1 KUB aims to support women entrepreneurs, help them develop their leadership, and build impactful, sustainable and scalable businesses.
Talent Hub – Nabeul: Talent Hub is an entrepreneurial support structure that provides pre-incubation, incubation and personalized support programmes. The structure also provides consulting activities in B2B, management, and business organization as well as accelerated and personalized training sessions in addition to coworking space for innovative entrepreneurs, nomadic workers, freelancers, etc.
Future Islands – Tunis: Future Islands is a research and innovation laboratory that aims to develop new and evolving approaches to create innovative solutions to complex problems to enable a sustainable society. The structure aims to foster new ways of working, collaborating and designing through innovative solutions that are appropriate to the local and international context.
4C ISMM: The 4C-ISMM network is a support structure for students and graduates affiliated with the Institut Supérieur de la Mode de Monastir and the national 4C programme (Centre de Carrière et de Certification des Compétences), whose mission is to improve the employability of future graduates through a programme of advice and training.
Agri-valorisation du Sud business incubator: The Agri-valorisation du Sud incubator is a nursery created within the framework of the national programme for the creation of agricultural incubators, which operates through a framework agreement signed between the Institut des régions arides and the agency for the promotion of agricultural investments. This structure offers support, guidance and assistance to young promoters and bearers of project ideas in the field of agriculture
Coworking Business Center – Bizerte: The Coworking Business Center, CBC, is a coworking space located in Bizerte in the heart of an important entrepreneurial and academic ecosystem. Its strategic geographical location has allowed it to vary its target and its clientele. With a competent and motivated team, the CBC is always working on improving the quality of its services adapted to its beneficiaries as well as on developing specific support programmes for future start-ups and innovative ideas.
In its next round of support, Flat6Labs Tunisia will focus its efforts on supporting public support structures such as business centres, higher education institutions and business incubators. The selected structures will also benefit from a series of training sessions that will enable them to set up specific support programmes for their communities.
The Ignite Tunisia initiative is a Flat6Labs programme, supported by Innov’i – EU4Innovation, financed by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, which aims to support the strengthening, structuring and valorisation of the Tunisian innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
