CIFF Concludes Its 44th Edition

The closing ceremony of the 44th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), held at the Main Hall, Cairo Opera House, has just ended, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Dr. Nevine Al-Kilani and a vast number of stars, Egyptian and Arab filmmakers, journalists, media professionals, and iconic figures.

The ceremony began with the opening speech of CIFF’s Chairman, artist Hussein Fahmy: Over a period of nine days, the festival presented diversified shows and films to the audience. Additionally, the huge number of audiences was remarkable; he discussed the idea of wishing to see this festival among the best three festivals in the world with the former Minister of Culture, Dr. Nevine Al-Kilani.

“Fahmy” thanked the sponsors of CIFF and highlighted “a Diary of a Country Prosecutor” by director Tawfiq Saleh which premiered in its restored version during the proceedings of the 44th edition of CIFF. Furthermore, there is also a restored version of “a Song on the Passage” by Ali Abd El-Khaleq. Some scenes of both films were displayed on the screen.

The Minister of Culture, Dr. Nevine Al-Kilani went on stage to announce the festival’s conclusion, shedding light on the efforts of CIFF’s Chairman, artist Hussein Fahmy and all the crew.
