Tunisian star Fares Landoulsi starts shooting new film ‘Hearts of Salt’ by Director Rosa Russo

Tunisian star Fares Landoulsi is taking part in the shooting of the new film ‘Hearts of Salt’ (‘Cuori di sale’) by documentary director Rosa Russo which started on June 19.

The new film also features Agrigento actor Gaetano Aronica in the cast. It is the story of a British ornithologist who arrives in Sicily to investigate the effects of climate change on migrations: he will witness a series of dramatic events that will force him to abandon his role of ‘detached observer’.

The film is made in collaboration with the ‘Piano Focale’ film school and is a co-production between Italy, the United Kingdom and Tunisia. Five weeks of shooting are planned between Palermo, Mazara del Vallo and Terrasini. The crew will also travel to Tunisia.

The film’s protagonist is Alexander Vlahos. The other actors involved in the project, besides Aronica, are Eleonora De Luca, Roberta Rigano, Fares Landoulsi, Paride Benassai, Saverio Santangelo, Michele Perrotta, Fabio Orso, Maziar Firouzi, Carmen Giardina and Nicola Puleo.

Fares Landoulsi is a young Tunisian actor who was selected by Screen International among the Arab Stars of Tomorrow for 2019. In 2020, he won his breakthrough role in Netflix’s Messiah.

Before that, he starred in several films that earned him critical acclaim, including Omertà (2018), which was part of the Directors’ Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival.
