Italian-Tunisian business forum in late April in Tunis

As part of the upcoming inter-governmental Italy-Tunisia summit April 29-30, a business forum will be held in Tunis on cooperation between the two countries, ANSAmed reports.

The forum will be organized by the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE), the Italian industrial employers’ confederation Confindustria and the Italian banking association (ABI), and the Italian foreign ministry.

The forum aims to look into business opportunities especially as concerns future projects drawn up by the Tunisian government in key industrial sectors. As part of the forum there will be discussion, thus, on agriculture and technology for food processing, infrastructure and construction, and renewable energies, the same source said.

The event, in which high level Italian and Tunisian figures will take part, is expected to be an important opportunity to strengthen and develop trade and industrial partnership opportunities that Tunisia offers Italian enterprises. Numerous factors make Tunisia one of the most attractive markets in the southern Mediterranean: the geographical proximity, its network of trade agreements with the European Union, new regulations to attract foreign investment, and local manufacturing specializations.
