Béja Cheesy Days: Mediterranean Festival dedicated to cheese

The Association of Beja Cheese Festival and Heritage Promotion in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the Office of Livestock and Pasture and the Tunisian National Tourist Office are co-organizing the Beja Mediterranean Cheese Festival, which will be held from May 3 to 5, 2019.

After the first edition in 2018, the Beja Cheese Festival has become the meeting place for cheese lovers to meet cheese artisans. They will tell you, with passion, what is behind each cheese. Each cheese will be well explained, its flavours, its manufacturing method whether it is cow, goat or sheep.

Béja has long been known for the exceptional quality of its cheese. The streets of the city centre are turning into a huge cheese platter!

The festival is revitalizing the region. It is becoming the best tool for enhancing the value of a cultural capital at the governorate’s disposal.

The festival programme includes:

– Fair of local products

– Seminar on the promotion of alternative tourism and the tools for its development

– Musical performances

– Hiking to the new tourist circuit “Garden City” in Medina de Béja

– Guided tour of the archaeological city El Fawar

– Culinary show and cheese tasting
