Spain lifts travel restrictions on Tunisia

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation lifted the travel restrictions for its nationals to Tunisia, the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts reports on Wednesday.

The Spanish authorities also reclassified the governorates of Tozeur, Kebili, Medenine and Tataouine as “medium risk zone” and “risk-free zone,” except for the regions bordering Libya, the same source said.

Besides, they removed Tozeur and Kebili from “medium risk zone” in the travel advice and advised their nationals to adopt the formula of organised trips by travel agencies,

In this respect, many countries lifted travel restrictions on Tunisia or regions of Tunisia, the latest was Japan in March 2019. These countries warned their nationals against travelling to Tunisia or certain regions of Tunisia after the two terrorist attacks in Bardo and Sousse in 2015.
