Organised by the Cité sociale and the Ligue de l’Enseignement – FOL Moselle, the Fameck Arab Film Festival is one of the major cultural events in the Grand Est region.
It offers more than 40 films, feature-length fiction films, documentaries, short films, many of which are new or previews, with the aim of promoting emerging cinema.
The programme includes more than 110 screenings over ten days, embracing productions from countries such as Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, etc.
Several distinctions are awarded during the Palmarès: Grand Prix, Youth Jury Prize, Press Jury Prize, Audience Prize, Documentary Prize and Short Film Prize.
An out-of-competition selection entitled “Opening to the World” is also proposed.
It brings together films that are not produced by countries of the Arab world but that are linked to it by the themes they deal with.
For 2021, the Arab Film Festival will take place from 6 to 17 October 2021.
