The Ministry of Industry and Small-and medium-sized Enterprise (SMEs) gave its agreement in principle to 10 private projects for the production of electricity from solar energy, TAP reports on Monday.
These projects, which will be launched by Tunisian investors, will have a production capacity of 10 megawatts (1 megawatt per project). The overall cost of the investment is estimated at 30 million dinars (MD), the same source added.
The launch of these projects is part of the Action Plan for the acceleration of renewable energy projects in Tunisia, launched by the government in May 2018, which aims to increase the production capacity of photovoltaic energy projects from 100 Mw to 500 Mw.
