Egypt: Alexandria Francophone Film Fest to kick off June 18

Tunisia will be the guest of honour at the first edition of the Alexandria Festival of Francophone Cinema, which will be held in Egypt from June 18 to 23.

The festival will be held in the well-known Biblioteca Alessandrina and will celebrate both the 50th anniversary of the International Organization of the Francophonie and the Year of Tunisian and Egyptian Culture.

There will be 45 films screened, most of which co-productions involving a total of 82 Francophone countries.

The festival which will include workshops and cultural and scientific events will be directed by Egyptian actor Samir Sabry with critic Mohamed Atef as artistic director.
