Rally staged for a change of political system

Nationwide rallies were staged Sunday for a  change of the political system in Tunisia, during which supporters of President Kais Saied called for a suspension of parliament.

Supporters, massing in front of the Municipal Theatre in Tunis amid tight security, brandished slogans that call for addressing political corruption in the country and maintaining the suspension of parliament.

Political parties Echaab, Alliance for Tunisia and the Popular Current called on their supporters to participate Sunday in marches and rallies across the country in support of President Kaïs Saïed.

In Some Regions, supporters of President Saïed, participated Sunday in several marches to support his decisions and initiatives

Several slogans were chanted during these marches, calling for the unveiling of corruption files, accountability for the corrupt and the completion of the process of 25 July 2021.

Saïed had announced exceptional measures relating to the dismissal of  Prime Minister, Hichem Méchichi, the freezing of the activities of the Parliament and the lifting of the immunity of deputies.
