Ten entrepreneurs on Monday received prizes ranging from €4,000 to €8,000, or an overall amount of €52,000, as part of the contest of the entrepreneurial programme dedicated to businesses, startups and associations active in sustainable tourism “Grow Together”,
The competition is part of the accompaniment component of the “Grow Together” programme, supported by the project “Promotion of Sustainable Tourism in Tunisia,” project manager Hela Ben Yahmed said at a workshop on “Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Tourism” held in Tunis.
This is a joint action of the European Union under its “Tounes Wijhetouna” programme and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by GIZ in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism.
Since June 2021, the accompaniment component of the “Grow Together” programme has provided support to 48 project holders selected from 160 applicants, Ben Yahmed added.
The support component focused on consolidating participants’ skills as well as increasing networking and support to boost innovative cooperation between project holders.
The goal is to have companies which are more visible and more present online, improved business models and increased turnover.
Therefore, 90 training sessions were held for 627 participants in addition to 50 one-on-one coaching sessions.
Thanks to the “Grow Together” programme, six new alternative tourism services were launched and five partnership agreements were signed and implemented.
