2nd edition of Olive Tree Festival in Sfax : new prospects in Brazilian market

The city of Sfax (Tunisia) hosted Sunday the 2nd edition of the Olive Tree Festival  on the theme: “Olive tree, light and roots,” with a rich programme that includes  development, entertainment and tourism activities.

The festival was marked by the participation of several cultural association and structures, civil society components, several travel agencies, tourism investors and foreign visitors in addition to the Tunisian Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX).

The festival includes a scientific symposium that brought together local, European, Brazilian and US experts, as well as representatives of the International Olive Council in Madrid.

This second edition of the festival focused on exports, sale strategies, and strategic marketing to make the most of the new consumer trends.

The event provided the occasion to contribute to the promotion of the national agro-food product and olive oil and to its marketing in the local and foreign markets, Olivko CEO Karim Fitouri told TunisianMonitorOnLine.  He said that the festival achieved success and had very positive impact on the promotion of Tunisian Olive Oil especially in the Brazilian market.

Marcelo Scofano, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Expert in Olive Oil and organiser of the international competition of Brazil was the guest of the Olive Tree Festival, who visited Tunisia to explore the Tunisia site and its Olive Oil market so as to plan future partnership and agreements between the two countries Olivko CEO said.

As a self-proclaimed oliveologist and professional olive taster, Marcelo Scofano expressed interest in Tunisian Olive and looked for ways  and means  to promote the Tunisian Olive Oil product in Brazil, Karim Fitouri said.
